Our Story
Western Heights Learning Center has proudly served the families of Albuquerque's South Valley since 1968. Founded by Wallace and Norma Franklin, the center was born out of a deep commitment to the local community. The Franklins first established Western Heights Church in 1962 at a small location near Bridge and Five Points, but as their congregation grew, they relocated to our current site on Sage Rd. SW in 1965.
Recognizing a growing need for childcare, Wallace and Norma opened the learning center in 1968. They saw many children in the community left unsupervised during the day and, driven by their love and concern, created a safe, nurturing space for children to learn and grow. Since then, Western Heights Learning Center has flourished into a highly respected, nationally accredited 5-star center.
