NM PreK Lead Teacher

I began my journey at WHLC in 2014, initially as a substitute, then transitioning to roles such as a float and assistant in the NM PreK program. For the past few years, I’ve served as the lead teacher in Early PreK. My passion lies in fostering children’s social-emotional growth and creating an environment where they feel supported, valued, and excited to learn. I strive to build strong relationships with families, ensuring that each child receives the care they need to thrive.

I’ve always felt a calling to work with children, dating back to 1998. Though I briefly pursued other career options, I couldn’t ignore my passion for education and eventually earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe my role as a teacher is a calling from God, and I’m motivated by the joy I see in children as they grow and succeed.

Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, gardening, and flea market flips. And yes, fluffy cows and baby animals always bring a smile to my face!

About NM Pre K

For our NM PreK 4-year-old class, we provide a warm, nurturing environment where little learners thrive through play and discovery. Our developmental-interaction approach is focused on school readiness with developmentally appropriate activities—like early literacy, counting, and creative exploration—so children build skills while enjoying hands-on learning. Kind, responsive teachers help each child develop confidence and social-emotional skills with gentle guidance.
