2nd Grade Lead Teacher
I am the Children’s Pastor and 2nd Grade Teacher at WHLC, and I’ve been here since 2021. My passion is to help children become more than just passive hearers of God’s word, but active disciples who live it out. I was inspired to join the team after hearing about the school’s legacy which sparked my desire to be part of this amazing community. Before teaching, I worked for a year in preschool education and am also a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God.
My primary motivation is to help children get to know Jesus and live more like Him. I approach teaching with love and creativity, using various tools to meet different learning styles. I love the relationships that are built and strengthened every day at WHLC, and I enjoy the willingness of the community to stop and pray together at any moment.
About 2nd Grade
In second grade, your child becomes a more independent learner. They’ll dive into multiplication, cursive writing, and bigger reading adventures while exploring history, science, and the Bible—and learning what it means to live out their faith.
Class Supply List
These supplies will be collected and given out throughout the year.
• 5 - Plastic pocket folders (with prongs)
• 2 - glue bottle
• 6 - glue sticks
• 2 - 24 count box of crayons
• 1 - pair of scissors
• 2 - package of colored pencils
• 2 - package of markers
• 1 - package highlighters
• 1 - Ruler (metric and inch) no Floppy rulers!
• 2 - Packages of wide ruled notebook paper
• 2 - Large erasers or packs of eraser tops
• 48 - #2 pencils NO DESIGNS OR FOIL!
• 2 - packages of stickers
• 3 - boxes of Kleenex Tissue
• 2 - rolls of paper towels
• 2 - Clorox wipes
• 1 or 2 - Coloring books (not for sharing)
• 2 - Packages of colored construction paper
These supplies will be for individual student use:
• 1 – Bible (preferably NIV)
• 1 – backpack
• 1 - Water bottle
