Tom Padilla

4th Grade Lead Teacher

I’ve been teaching 4th grade at WHLC for the past two years, but my history here goes back more than 25 years. I had the privilege of working under our founder, Reverend Wallace Franklin, helping transition the school from manual accounting to computer-based systems. Later, I worked alongside Mrs. Franklin to continue updating and improving operations. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—supporting IT, janitorial, maintenance, accounting, and substitute teaching—before stepping into the classroom.

As Pastor of Western Heights Church, I’m passionate about giving students a solid foundation of faith in Jesus. I incorporate biblical principles into every subject and encourage students to think deeply, ask questions, and grow in both knowledge and faith. Nothing excites me more than seeing students connect Scripture to their learning.

When I’m not teaching, I love tinkering with synthesizers, making synth-pop music, and watching classic Disney movies. Life is always a little more fun with a bit of creativity and music!

About 4th Grade

Fourth graders are ready for new challenges! They study U.S. history, fractions, and earth science while continuing to grow in their reading, writing, and faith—discovering how God’s hand is at work in the world around them.
